Between the David Low Way and the National Park to the west there is an area of road reserve controlled by Noosa Council. This area varies in width but is generally about 4 to 5 meters.
Clearing part of this area would provide a fire break and a nature strip. In addition, it could support an off-road bike track as well as improving the vista of the National Park from DLW.
If we moved quickly, this change could possibly be funded with help from State and/or Federal funds for disaster recovery relating to the Peregian Beach fires.
A concrete bike track from the Coolum roundabout to the Peregian Beach Village is estimated to cost about $190,000 plus the cost of clearing.

See the image below for the strip between David Low Way and the Noosa National Park on the left
As I live opposite the National park I would not want to lose too much of the bush vista. But happy to see a bike path to encourage cyclists, who don't want to dice with death on David Low Way
Yes any path would be a must for this area, so many families and bike riders , to be safe, as a resident of Peregian Breeze we were hoping for a safe access to Peregian Village via the National Park there are lots of families that ride and walk in this area and we need a safe access for these people. Which would save traffic on the roads to the village
Thank you Jennifer Knight
Great idea
